The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) data is lost or wasted globally in one year, about one third of the food produced for human consumption, or approximately 1.3 billion tons. Developed countries are in a bad sense, a model of food wasted in the United States and Europe as 10 times more per person than in poor countries such as Africa and Asia.
A 2010 report by the European Commission, the European Union countries, the amount of waste throughout the food production and consumption chain of 179 kg per person, of which 76 kg was created in the household. Estonian soja switchboard 265 kg is even worse, but the amount of homes is 61 kg less than the European average.
If the results of different studies are written soja down, it would become apparent that they are not well suited to each other. Food waste is a relatively new topic in world politics, and only Japan has over 10 years of experience in this fight. Food can be reduced by the amount of farming, koristusejärgse handling and storage of products, processing, soja distributing for sale, and consumption process. It is often measured in just a couple of stages, and will be used to generalize or environmental soja statistics are derived and illustrated by figures for both food wastage.
The complexity lies in the definitions. soja Is a waste of time for everyone to understand, but also talks about the loss of food, residues from waste. Leftover food is edible substances that are thrown soja away. Do mikserilabade whipped cream onto the ice, you can not take advantage of soda, a natural "treatment" or a loss of balance? If you actually measure the loss-load of food in quantities and via the difference between the weight of the final product, then evaporating the water means a reduction soja in weight, but not to waste. So there is no single correct way of collecting statistics, but the outcome of accidental ability to draw the wrong conclusions.
Reasonable consumption of foods that will prove too much for the provision of charity, recycling of feed or fertilizer are all good ways to alleviate the problem of several. Developed countries are now so rich that they can throw the food away. If these quantities, we implicitly anyway gonna pay, better target people with malnutrition, it could also be the amount of the current global food situation improved. Hunger is primarily caused by a lack of purchasing power, not food shortages.
Habits of consumers, the retail standards due to the large number of good food away uneaten, and producers in developing countries soja by example as much as in the same area to deteriorate. However, people's expectations are changing a little food. Britain is one of the fastest growing retail industry soja tootesegmente soja so-called "ugly food", whose only drawback is defective visual appearance. Not the best looking food purchasing and eating campaign has been organized in France.
All in all, should not cause a reduction in food waste anyone's welfare decline, however, would increase the welfare of the poorer strata of society. Food production and the sale must occur collaboration between manufacturers and retailers, to avoid overproduction, created and produced fake abundance of food eaten.
